On July 26, 2024, fellow Bulgarians from the Chicagoland area gathered at the cozy Snowlike Studio office in Schaumburg to immerse ourselves in the beauty of Bulgaria. During this special art event, participants painted a Bulgarian landscape to the sound of beloved traditional melodies.
The event brought together art, love for Bulgaria, and a shared desire to preserve our connection to Bulgarian culture, no matter where we live. As brushes created scenes of mountains, lakes, and meadows, conversations flowed freely—about our childhoods in Bulgaria, our families here, and the hopes, growth, and aspirations of our children in America.
Painting became not just a creative act, but also an opportunity for connection, sharing, and new friendships. Among the attendees were parents who dream of their children preserving their Bulgarian identity—through language, traditions, and art. That’s why the “Bulgarian Roots and Children” project continues to create opportunities for gatherings, learning, and inspiration.
With gratitude to everyone who joined us, we look forward to our upcoming events. Because our Bulgarian roots remain alive—when we nurture them with memory, creativity, and community.
